-like conditions in the nation's heartland could make travel difficult. wendy gillette joins us live from new york city. >> reporter: good morning. the national weather service has received reports of 34 tornadoes in four states, now this powerful system is moving east. this is just one of more than 30 reported tornadoes that touched down on christmas day. leaving heavy damage. this one roared through alabama -- mobile, alabama tearing down parts of the church and downtown businesses. another twister hit mississippi, blowing insulation into trees and%khç peeling back walls of homes. there were some injuries reported, no deaths. >> judging from some of the damage we witnessed today it is a miracle that no one was hurt any worse than they were. >> reporter: further east in the state in stone county, theresa and her boyfriend took shelter in their truck. >> started jerking us and spinning us. >> reporter: the same fast-moving storms brought braise -conditions to parts of the country's mid section, causing 21 vehicle pile-up in oklahoma city, the system is heading east bringing treacherous conditions

the country. t.j. winick live from new york to explain. >> reporter: merry christmas. no matter what form this bad weather takes travel today could be dangerous. a white christmas in philadelphia lasted a few hours before snow turned to rain. there are strong storms in the middle of the country, heavy snow in oklahoma which will move into the ohio valley where blizzard warnings are posted. it hasn't been easy for travelers. >> we are hoping with we don't sit on the runway we did that last time. >> reporter: a huge storm caused hundreds of delays and cancelled flights in and out of san francisco, putting a wrench in plans. >> after i found out my flight had been cancelled after four hours of waiting in the airport i had to wait in another three hour customer service line which i didn't get to the end of before the booth closed. >> reporter: on the roads the high winds and severe conditions in the sierras made driving nearly impossible. >> it is the most people traveling for the holiday in six years. any bad weather we might be seeing in the coming days could result00 in serious disruption

clinton is still in a new york hospital. she's been treated for a blood clot. now spokesperson for the secretary says doctors found the clot during a follow up exam for that concussion she suffered about two weeks ago. she is 65 years old. she had a stomach virus when she fainted due to dehydration and hit her head. that caused a concussion. secretary clinton is being treated with blood thinners for that blood clot. >>> it's 6:16. a san diego police officer is in serious condition after his patrol car was hit by a suspected drunk driver. the crash happened early sunday morning. sheriffs deputies say a suspected drunk driver was speeding reason a red light and hit the driver. it was trapped for nearly an hour before firefighters could get him out. the driver that crashed and the officer were not seriously hurt. and was arrested. >>> that leads us right to tara moriarty. you're talking about advising people don't drink and drive on this new years eve. >> definitely. no reason to do that with mass transit offering so many free rides. muni offering free rides from 8:00 tonight unti

big news across country the fall on the front page of yesterday's new york post scene here has a lot of people questioning the newspaper and the photographer who took this photoperiod the headline reads dude pushed on the subway track this man is about to die. this is a 58 year-old man desperately klein a platform as the train is coming at them. it is a terrifying image. the freelance photographer captured this image on monday after someone shoved the man from the platform on times square. the train struck the man and he died and the new york hospital on left behind a wife and daughter. the photographer saw the man fall onto the tracks and said he ran toward the oncoming train firing his cameras flashed to warn the driver. he said he was shocked that people closer to the victim did not try to help him and the stands before the train struck. some critics are questioning the photographers motives. we are asking why didn't the photographer help? why did the newspaper published the photo? we put this on the kron4 facebook page and not no one helped him to the matter not one person. the p
